Other carriers do have this option. Carriers supported by Apple. It has already been established in this thread that you are using an unsupported carrier. There is no solution for you on these forums.
Hi totti4884,
I understand you perfectly because I have the same problem. I’m in Angola and I work for a mobile operator. We launch LTE on the 1800 MHz and the iPhone 5 cannot access the LTE network.
We are not certified by Apple because one of the requisites is to have or buy 100 k Apple devices. For a small and poor countries like mine this is impossible. But that would not be a problem is Apple is at least did not block the LTE access for nom certified operators.
They just software blocked it. I just don’t know if they made this based on carrier list or just the IMSI ranges. To prove this, it’s the menu-options Enable LTE is not accessible and this is software lock.
Actually this is quite a stupid thing to do, because if an iPhone 5 user from AT&T would come to Angola and use it in roaming will not have access to the 4G network.
In our network all the other LTE phones work perfectly (if they have the 1800 MHz band).
Since Apple is not a stupid company, the only explanation is commercial. Apple want to force certification for the big operators and they lock everybody that is not certified until all the big players pay for the certification process.
Of course they will, once there is no commercial reason for not doing it!
The problem for Apple is that some people will choose other vendor in meantime.
With Samsung, Huawwi, LG and HTC everything works perfectly since day 1!
I hope what happen to you is the same that hapened to me. I got my iPhone 5 and was on 4G. Later i discovered that the problem was AT&T, the person that actived my account never moved it to the LTE network. As I undertanfd this doesn't happen automatic, so check with AT&T to make sure your account is on the LTE network.
Hello;
My name is Sebastian Manuel, product manager and data services in the company Movicel in Angola. Our carrier has LTE service in 1800 frequency. We have sold services to our clients LTE service with some modems, phones and rooters, since we have more time to this part of the received complaints from customers who have mobile iphone 5 model A1429 (according to the specification, this model works in the frequency 1800 we have), the settings of these phones over there is the option to configure or enable the APN LTE/4G.
Thank you for your help in order to inform how to configure / activate the service in LTE iphone 5 with the following example:
Version: 7.0 (11th 4449D)
Serial Number: F17KG6W2DTWF
IMEI: 01 362900 1382382
Modem firmware: 5:00:00.
We thank you for your feedback
Hi there
I read your post with interest
I work for a UK MVNO who are trying to get LTE certified with Apple and are having trouble even finding out the process to follow.
Do you have a document or a link I can follow - I am particuarly concered that there are rules stating that we will need to buy 100K units as we operate a BYoD SIM only.

Your iphone 5 support 4G so
if
4G is stronger than 3G = it will connect to 4G
if
3G is stronger than 4G = it will connect to 3G
so on
2G.....
and if there is something wrong
try to buck up your device and restore your ios to the current ios or to the latest ios (7.1)
You say it supports your carrier's LTE band... fine. Who is your carrier? Are they on this list?
There is nothing to enable, it is enabled by default.
You must be in an area with LTE coverage to actually connect to the LTE network.
If somebody know apple support mail address please provide me. I send this question directly to him.

Apple does not provide email support.
You are correct, there is an Enable LTE option under Settings > General > Cellular.
Do you have an AT&T iPhone 5 and are you using their nanoSIM on their network?
Dear I use different carrier , but in my menu doesnt have Enable LTE options.
That is why I asked why we dont have Enable LTE menu in our carrier , but have in AT&T ?
The reason the Enable LTE option is not present is becaue the LTE network your carrier has is NOT compatible with that phone.
And did you unlock the iPhone before using it?
