is bootcamp in osx one creates a disc with drivers or put them on a usb stick which have fat32 filesystem
Many thanks Rudegar. The drivers disc I created did not have anything that fixed the problem. Since I was also getting problems earlier in the process, such as the iMac failing to restart after I selected my partition size, or saying that my Windows 7 disc was not inserted when it was, which happened sometimes but not on other occasions, I decided that the whole Bootcamp thing was a bit flakey, and just kept doing it over and over, until eventually it worked. So, problem solved ... but I would not want to do it again. Would be better to buy a PC.

This is nothing to do with the Windows Support Software, it is a seperate problem which has been discussed here regularly, nothing in the WSS download will cure it.
