I have a mid 2010 13 inch macbook pro. The new macbook pro is calling my name 😊 and i would like to get it. So i would like to know if i can trade in my current one for the latest with the retina display?

Not with Apple, as Apple does not have a trade-in program. There are some third-party authorized resellers that provide such, but you'd get far more money just selling the computer yourself.
No, but you can try selling your 2010 model and putting that money towards the purchase of a Retina display MBP. Apple doesn't do trade-ins, although there are numerous sites that will offer to purchase your MBP - for very little, I've found. The best I could do with my old 2006 model was to sell it on Ebay - I was 'offered' around $125-130 from a number of 'sell us your old Mac' dealers and ended up getting almost $400 on Ebay.

If you're new to eBay, be sure and be a 'good' seller. Prep your MBP for sale by installing the system and the apps that it shipped with and include the installation disc(s) with the purchase. Be realistic about where to start your bidding - search for other computers of your vintage and be honest about the condition of your computer.
I have a number of years of buying and selling on eBay under my belt, so I knew how to attract buyers and I knew how to make sure that my buyer got all that was promised (and more - I even 'threw in' a 250GB external drive that I no longer used and specified that it was perfect for backing up the 120GB drive that shipped with my 2006 model). Most of the time, eBay can be a pleasure to deal with - just beware of anyone that wants to pay you without going through eBay.
