ipad mini not recognized by computer

yeah- same problem here. itunes 11 (just updated) and still neither iphone nor ipad mini recognized so i can sync them. restarted the devices. restarted the computer. nothing helps. apple support- that's a joke. sadly it seems we're on our own and the previous comments simply reiterate what the itunes help page says- but it doesn't work. so, there it is. apple products are great and apple support absolutely stinks.

u know what...I do ask my friends and it's pretty normal once u updated your itunes..

It rtakes 1-2 days for you Ipad mini to be restored..n mine is working well afterthat...

Same here. I've tried restrating, all devices are updated but just the same, iTunes does not recognize the device. This *****. I think we need to wait until there is an update to fix this problem. I hope Apple is working on it now.

just bought an ipad 1 hour ago..

well seems had instruction for to downloads itune's 1st..i really dont know bout dis..thought it's like usb pendrive..mass storage..

so just wait until me finish dowload..

I just bought my iPad mini yesterday and had been experiencing the same problem. Here's what I did to resolve the issue. First, my laptop didn't recognize the iPad, so I switched USB ports until I found one that did. iTunes still didn't recognize the device, so I updated to the latest version, and made sure the Ipad was also updated. I then restarted both my laptop and my iPad. That did the trick and I was finally able to sync with iTunes. Let me know if you've tried this and if it worked.

I still have the problem, i have an ipad mini its updated to 7.1 ios and my itunes is the latest one. It shows up in my device managerment under portable devices, the drivers on it are up to date, i have unistalled itunes and reinstalled it help plz!!!!!!!!!
