Sounds important. It might be helpful if I had a clue as to which purchased items have not been transferred and some instructions on how to transfer purchased items that have not been transferred. I would like to update my phone's OS to the latest release.

iPhone 4S, iOS 6, I would like to update to iOS6.0.1

File>Devices is fine- got to that okay- Thank you!

But Devices>transfer files is a no go, because "Tranfer Files" is gray-ed out, not ALLOWING me to select it. Please advise!

Thank you arbolton, your resolution was the only thing that would make the error message go away for me even though I experienced this issue 2 years after you posted your resolution.

I know this is forever later but thank you so much! Nothing else above worked for me but this did! Finally upgrading my iOS from 7.0.4 from well over a year ago... Maybe 2!

I did the right click as you suggested, all was going well, but it's been stuck in "preparing to copy to iTunes" for the last 10 minutes. Giving up
