MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0

A new update was released today for june 2012 macbook pro'ss/air's. Is anyone else hoping for gaming improvements/improved nvidia drivers? I just updated but havent had a chance to test anything yet. I would also be interested in seeing if battery life improved at all.

A more basic question from someone who is new to Mac. How do you even know if this Update is even installed or not? If you have Power Nap running, won't this update be installed automatically?

Go to "About this Mac" under the Apple menu, then click "More Info" button. The build number of the OS was updated to the following:

Software OS X 10.8.2 (12C3006)

Thanks. Is this an update that needs to be manually installed? I checked the build number and it hasn't been updated. Furthermore, when I check for updates, this update does not appear (I'm using a 13" MBP retina).

This update caused my MacBook Pro (15" 2.3 GHz Core i7) to constantly prompt me for the login keychain password for various background processes. And it makes Mail.app repeatedly prompt me for the passwords to each email account I use. And it prohibits me from copying or deleting files in the Finder.

Other than that, it's just dandy.

I reinstalled 10.8.2 from the recovery drive, and the problem went away. I tried the update again, just in case it was a fluke. It wasn't. I have the same problem, and am reinstalling 10.8.2 again now.

Along with the keychain password being asked for at random times, I'm also having HUGE problems if I try to lock my mac (AKA go into screen saver, but have it ask for a password).

At first once I tried to exit the screen saver I'd get a flickering screen... now the screensaver continues and nothing happens. I have to hard reset the machine for it to get it working.

And I guess there's no way to uninstall this update? I don't have a recovery drive, but this update has wanted me to throw this thing out of a window.

I have MBP 15 - Retina - 16GB - 500GB - 2.6 i7

runnint: 10.8.2 (12c3006)

Any help would rock

What I did was: install 10.8.0 (or.1 or .2) again (I downloaded it from internet, but you might have a copy of the installer saved somewhere), then install all updates except the 2.0 update (press 'more' to select updates manually).

Again 512mb vram for hd4000, and no more problems.

My advice for anyone who hasn't installed it yet: if you don't have problems, don't!

I have same problems as mentioned before, along with the keychain password asked, when I put the macbook pro to sleep and I try to wake it up in the next morning, it doesn't...For a second the keyboard lights and screen opens and then goes back to sleep again before I have the chance to do anything.

Today I saw the 2.0 update again. Hoping Apple fixed the problems above, I installed it right away.

But to my dissapointment, after updating my 8GB 15"mbp's hd4000 showed having 384mb vram, opposed to 512mb before. Same as with the initial release.

So I had to install 10.8.2 again, without the 2.0 update, and now everything is back to normal.

This update claims to improve graphics, but again it only seems to make it worse.

Please Apple, fix this!
