MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0

A new update was released today for june 2012 macbook pro'ss/air's. Is anyone else hoping for gaming improvements/improved nvidia drivers? I just updated but havent had a chance to test anything yet. I would also be interested in seeing if battery life improved at all.

About MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Update 2.0

This update is recommended for all Mac notebooks introduced in June 2012.

Definitely this is a different update, I downloaded both, before and today

I's almost the same name : they added

and to MacBookAirMacBookProUpd2.0

MacBookAirandMacBookProUpd2.0

It's slightly bigger than the one of Nov 8th

It was 133,2 MB

The newer, Dec 5th, is 134.1 MB

All that to say they changed something: what?

In November I read about so many complaints, I waited to install

and now I do not know

Install or not install?!

Actually, this is the default way of installing OSX nowadays, assuming that with 'from scratch' you mean a clean install.

Just download 10.8.2 again from the Mac App Store, install it (you'll have everything the way it was, but it's allways safe to have a backup) then DON'T install the 2.0 update (I've hidden it in the App Store to prevent accidental installation).

Also, don't let OSX install updates automatically (Systempreferences > Software-update).

I bought a Core i7 Macbook pro 15" mid 2012 non retina model, with 8 GB RAM,

It has Intel HD 4000 512 MB VRAM and Nvidia GT-650M 1 GB VRAM

Apple released ( MacBook Air & MacBook Pro Update 2.0 ) for mid 2012 model

It is not a firmware update...

The results after the update ... Intel HD 4000 384 MB VRAM instead of 512 MB

I reinstalled the OS 10.8, 10.8.2 combo update again, and did hide the MacBook pro update 2.0

The VRAM of the Intel HD 4000 came to 512 MB

so in my case

8GB RAM -> 384 VRAM After update

8GB RAM -> 512 VRAM Before update

which is better ??

Funny result. The graphics ram is on the Graphics Card and is not in the "general" Ram.

This 15" MBP has two versions: one with 384MB on the D4000 and 512MB on the Nvidia, the other with 512MB on the D4000 and 1GB(1000MB) on the Nvidia.

This is hardware on the Graphics cards. NOTE: this is MB and not GB, so MUCH less than the memory Ram.
