I bought the "Amazing Spiderman" movie in iTunes; it will not play on my Mac Pro. A version of it did start on my ipad(3) wanted to finish on my Mac but all I get is a black iTunes window with controls and everything, but it will not play. They still haven't updated Apple support pages to reflect Mountain Lion (10.8.2).
Oh, other movies that I have bought or ripped seem to work fine.

You may have bought/ downloaded the Hi Def version of the movie but your monitor/graphics card combination doesn't support the HDCP protocols necessary to play the DRMed HiDef movies offered.
Try to download the standard def version that will play for sure.

Update:
I tried downloading this twice. I threw the first copy in the trash. After the second download failed too, I pulled the 1st movie from the trash to my desktop and tried to run it again. Double click on it and it started a tiny app I had downloaded previously (SaberFX) but never used. That's really odd. I think Apple has a daabase problem.
I got this response; I would have expected it to appear here, but it didn't.

Fortunately Apple lets you download the standard version free (after you've paid extra for the HD version)
When it finishes downloading, I will try it again.

Hi. I bought this movie a few days ago and every time I try to download it the iTunes Extras file gets to 1.70 out of 1.96 GB and then stops giveing me an "Unknown Error -50' message. Did you encounter this problems? The film itself downloads fine, its just the extras file that is giving me trouble.
Amazing Spiderman movie download does not play, what's up with that?
