iTunes Match expired; I want to renew, but how?

I got the following email from iTunes Store today:

Your subscription for iTunes Match expired on 11/14/12. Your complete music collection and playlists in iCloud are no longer available from your iOS devices, iTunes, or Apple TV. You will still be able to download from iCloud any music you previously purchased on iTunes from the Purchased area of the iTunes Store. You can also sync your music to your iOS devices using iTunes for Mac+PC. To renew your subscription now, open iTunes on your Mac or PC and choose Turn on iTunes Match from the Store menu.

However, when I turn on iTunes Match from the Store menu, it behaves as it always has (as if iTunes Match had never expired), so I have no idea how to actually renew my membership. I've tried turning iTunes Match off and on several times, but it never takes me to any sort of order/renew page. I've also tried signing out/in on iTunes. I definitely want to renew, but for some reason the Auto Renew did not go through (my payment details are fine, as I am able to purchase from the iTunes Store without a hitch).

Any advice? iTunes Match actually seems to be working fine, but I don't want to wait for it to actually die before renewing.

Same exact problems here. No options to renew anywhere. And yet I can continue to use the service. You would think the kinks would have been worked out of this service by now.

It is infuriating. I can't believe how much time I have wasted on this. Including trying to find a way to contact Apple to report the issue and figure what I need to do.

Apple's response...

Jessica here from the iTunes Store and I have just finished reading your request. I understand that you have been having issues renewing your iTunes Match and are stuck in an infinite loop where it says your billing info is not valid. I know that you are eager to have your iTunes Match service renewed and I am happy to look into this for you.

After further investigation, it seems as though this is a known issue that we are currently experiencing with iTunes Match and Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.

Thank you for your patience. Until then, have a great evening.

I am having the exact same issues. One thing I tried I would not suggest is that I tuned off iTunes match on my computer, then turned it back on. It didn't fix the issue, and now I can't restore any of my previous uploads onto the machine.

All that happens is that it scans my computer, and sends the info to apple. Then itunes gets stuck on waiting for apple to send back information. I finally get a 4002 error.

I also sent a support ticket to apple. I am wondering if I should follow up with a call to applecare, to see if I can get the attention of apple in another way.

Same problem here. I got an email the other day saying the credit card associated to my iTunes Match was no longer valid and that I had to change it or risk cancellation. The email instructions were less than helpful, but ultimately I changed the credit card associated with my Apple ID Summary.

Fast forward to today when I receive a second email saying that my Match account has been cancelled.

Perhaps the place I changed my CC was not the right one, but I see no other location to change. And it sounds like the issue may be unrelated.

As I type this, I see that my iTunes Match is fine. So maybe this is a reprieve while they get their stuff together.

I called Tech Support (800-275-2273) and told my story to a rep. He diligently checked on the issue and eventually said that my best course of action was to email the iTunes Support Team.

I completed an email support ticket here: https://expresslane.apple.com/Issues.action

Not 100% sure this is the right path, but phone rep walked me through this process. You might want to submit there, too.

I also have the same problem. Nothing wrong with my card. First get email message yesterday that there was a "problem" with my automatic renewal and that I should correct it chop chop. I went online and it was already showing set for auto renewal ... then I rentered my same credit card and hoped for thre best. Tonight I get a new email that my iTunes Match has "expired" and I will be denied access to all 6000+ I took the time to upload over months.

What up?

If I have to re-upload everything I will be royally p*ssed ... this is just not OK.

By the way, iTunes on my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.0.1) is now broken - it just sits and spins the album art around and around.

C'mon Apple, this needs attention!
