iTunes Match expired; I want to renew, but how?

I got the following email from iTunes Store today:

Your subscription for iTunes Match expired on 11/14/12. Your complete music collection and playlists in iCloud are no longer available from your iOS devices, iTunes, or Apple TV. You will still be able to download from iCloud any music you previously purchased on iTunes from the Purchased area of the iTunes Store. You can also sync your music to your iOS devices using iTunes for Mac+PC. To renew your subscription now, open iTunes on your Mac or PC and choose Turn on iTunes Match from the Store menu.

However, when I turn on iTunes Match from the Store menu, it behaves as it always has (as if iTunes Match had never expired), so I have no idea how to actually renew my membership. I've tried turning iTunes Match off and on several times, but it never takes me to any sort of order/renew page. I've also tried signing out/in on iTunes. I definitely want to renew, but for some reason the Auto Renew did not go through (my payment details are fine, as I am able to purchase from the iTunes Store without a hitch).

Any advice? iTunes Match actually seems to be working fine, but I don't want to wait for it to actually die before renewing.

I would like to pay for my subscription before it expires. I have the funds now, but I cannot be sure the funds will be available when an auto-renew would attempt to withdraw the renewal fee. I cannot find anywhere in my iTunes account or iTunes store to pay now. Is this by design because Apple would like to raise the cost at their choice in the future? All my other subscriptions on the web allow me to pay a year or years in advance. I pay all my annual subscription up a year in advance at the end of the calendar year. This is the first time I have music match as one of those subscriptions. I have paid three other companies web subscriptions this week within just a couple of minutes. I have been attempting this for a day. Any assistance would be appreciated.

When I followed Gerard's advice I didn't see a renew button. I did see a prompt to rebuild the information in the lower left. I clicked it and low and behold, the iTunes Match renewal button appeared. Looks like I'm in good standing again.

I will now download my library so Apple no longer holds it hostage.

I have never owned any other computer. Bought my first in 1985. With great sadness I write this – I never thought I'd see the day that Apple would become so indifferent to its customers. The canned responses from Apple on this thread remind me of the same I have gotten from others (Yes, I'm talking about you, Adobe). It seems, success truly does breed contempt. I cling to hope that Apple will return to the standard Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak set from the beginning. Back when Apple truly did "Think Different."
