ipad mini stop charging at 90%!?

Yes, I solve the problem by changing the power adapter.

I request the distributor to order the part for me and when the thing come I do a one to one exchange.

I bought this iPad mini at Singapore

I live in a different country with no apple store here

So...I don't even know what to do, if I have to buy another charger...puffffth

Hey guys, i've never encounter this issue before until recently i started charge it at home. If I charge at my office, it always charge to 100%. My opinion is there's a chance this is cause by the adapter become too hot. At office, maybe because under aircond the adapter temperature is not so hot compare to when charging at home.

The problem is that apple malaysia doesn't want to exchange with the new adapter before they do kinda analyzing to ipad device and adapter which takes 2-3 days.

It's the adapter. not ipad mini problem. When the adapter is overheated, it kills the charging. What I do is, switch off to let the adapter to cool down a bit then switch it on back. A bit cumbersome. But I haven't test this overnite either it will cool down and resume charging or it won't charge at all. Prior the adapter, even iphone5 adapter can charge 100% without having this trouble - in normal room temperature.

on the side note: gonna buy non-Apple charging adapter in lelong or mudah.

Finally i bought the 12W adapter for ipad 4. And the problem resolved.

The charging duration is about 45 mins shorter.

im facing the same problem too,stop charging when reach 90% for 4 or 5 times since i bought it on last week.

btw, i also found that mini need to take long time to get it fully charged.

so, is it i should check with machine for this issue?

Most likely the charger adaptor problem again, have it replacement from Apple may be a right solution. Charger time of iPad mini looks longer may be due to its charger has lower output than iPad's.

I'M having the exact same issue. I bought my iPad Mini 2 days ago!! ... I can't believe apple's quality control is not there anymore. They're selling defective product now? 😠

So far apple still doesn't acknowledge this malfunction, try your lick to get the replacement for free.

Else, you can save the hussle & buy the normal 12w charger.

me already change the charger last months and still same problem happened.

I went to the service center last Saturday and they not allowed me to change the adapter,ask me to send my iPad and existing adapter for them to check.

I get back my iPad yesterday and they said no issue on my iPad and adapter.my iPad can perform full charge.

I will try to charge it tonight or tomorrow.

I want to ask,which spec you all bought?mine one are 16G wifi only.my friend bought 16G with cellular.dont have such issue at all.
