Can't update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2

We are upgrading our Macs to Mac Minis in our office. I have currently set up at lease 6 of them and upgraded from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2. The mini I am currently working on does not display the 10.8.2 upgrade in the app store. The iPhoto update is displayed but won't install because I do not have 10.8.2. I have downloaded the 10.8.2 combo and the 10.8.2 but it won't load. the message is "the volume doesn't meet the requirements for this update". This is the same machine as the others I have just updated. They are all brand new. Please help!

Apple removed the update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2 today!

The combo updates are for the earlyer macs, but the 2012er versions have a special 10.8.2 build,

i tried to download the special combo update for my mac mini 2012 but the download link

from apple is removed too!

i think we should wait 😟

Having the same problem as well.

Bought new Mac Mini (late 2012 model), and out of the box seeing this precise problem.

Spent an hour on the phone with Apple support and was escalated to 2nd level tech after trying the standard stuff (repair permissions on disk, download combo update directly, etc.) Even went so far as to completely reinstall the OS and had the same issue as @lostdarma.

2nd level support have said they will escalate further internally and come back with an answer in the next FOUR days.

Must be something wonky on Apple's side (issue with the combo update, update mechanism, whatever having to do with the new Mac Minis).

I get the same 404. I brought up the Google cached version of the page and click the DOWNLOAD link which sends you to: http://support.apple.com/downloads/DL1603/en_US/OSXUpd10.8.2.dmg

Going to this link also gets an error:

We're sorry.

Please return to the Apple Support homepage.

Perhaps Apple is sorting something out in the background. Time to twiddle thumbs.

FOUR DAYS???????????

OMG 😟

i changed from windows to osx now because of the facebook integration, imessage and so on.

but it starts very bad for apple and me 😟

Should i give my new 8 days old mac mini back and use windows 8?

i think they have big problems with the 10.8.2 build for the newer mac 2012 versions.

many many bugs and other thinks 😟

Indeed, NOT a good look for a newly released product!

My only complaint at the moment though is that the LACK of 10.8.2 update means I can't sort out my iPhoto setup as it won't even install from teh app store without the update in place first.

I was actually better off out of the box with iPhoto pre-installed as it was at least the older version and functioning.

i had the 10.8.2 yesterday, but the facebook integration doesn't work, so i thought it was a updating problem.

i just startet completly install OSX from a formated disk.

a clean installation...

but now i have the same problem, 10.8.2 is gone.. thanks apple!

and i cannot use iphoto which i had sorted the last 3 days!

I realized just very quickly that it is not good to be dependent on apples software ... in windows there are no such problems like this one :(

Having received a brand new mbp13 retina today and starting it up the first time I tried to update the machine directly. No 10.8.2 update came up (machine came with 10.8.1). Build is 12B2100 and I read in another forum that this build is somewhat problematic due to update issues (new netboot bla).

I tried everything, fix permissions, safe start, apple hardware test, manually downloading and installing... all doesnt make it right.

It must be something on the software side (I hope) and shouldnt be a hardware issue.

Please fix it Apple! NOW!

Same issue - TWO brand new mac minis out of the box.

Spoke with two support staff today - no answers

What hasn't worked:

-Completely erasing Macintosh HD and reinstalling from Recovery Partition, did not install newest version, still with 10.8.1

-Downloading a fresh copy of Mountain Lion (current version) from App Store on another computer and creating bootable DVD AND bootable USB drive - neither worked

-Attempted to sign in to App Store with different user account and redownload Mountain Lion

-Attempted update with 10.8.2 combo update

Big Bug here, Apple!!

Can't update from 10.8.1 to 10.8.2
