IOS Update has locked my Mackbook homepage

Hi to everyone, I'm new to this forum so Hello from me. I have had my Macbook pro for about 3 years (recent convert from windows PC's) Love it, never had cause to think otherwise. However, lastnight I had an ios update that has since installing locked my homepage to www.apple.com/startpage. No problem I thought, reset to www.google.co.uk simple .. but everytime I shut down browser and restart it it reverts nack to apple .. Infuriating! Any help / advice welcome.
