Increase volume in iPod touch 5th gen
Is there a way (app or otherwise) to increase the volume from the built in external speaker on the new 5th gen iPod touch?
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

This is a 5 year old post that you responded to!
If you need the volume from your iPod Touch 5 speaker to be louder, go into Settings, Music, EQ and set the EQ to Late Night.
That setting should give your iPod’s speaker a boost!
OR check out this app that I use on all of my iDevices.

My iphone 4s volum is twice louder thet ipod touch 5 gen
No. As yo found out, the speaker is really not that loud.
I seem to remember that someone (MacWorld, etc) had said there was a way to increase the volume.
If - and I repeat if, there is a way to increase the volume from the built in speaker, then to make that increase worthwhile, the extra volume would cause distortion and possibly even damage the speaker.
There are probably far better ways to achieve whatever it is you are trying to do. Assuming that this means you don't want to use headphones, then the possible options are a Dock speaker (that's a dock with powered speaker in it), or plugging the iPod into the aux socket of an amplifier or Ghetto Blaster (anyone remember those?) There are even small plug-in portable speakers if you simply need something small.
What are you trying to achieve?
I do have external speakers, but the lightning to 36 pin adapter will not fit with the case on the iPod. Just thought I could increase the sound a little for use indoors without wearing earbuds. I found an app (Boom) which claims to increase the volume. It's based on changing the playlist in iTunes. Not sure how it does it.
