Can i Connect an Apple TV with a CH3HNAS by Conceptronic (ENG-SPANISH)

Todavia no he comprado el apple TV.

No it won't.

It does not use DLNA and cannot directly access network drives.

Streaming content across teh LAN require files to be added to iTunes - while they may be stored on the LAN, iTunes must be running to access them via AppleTV.

Files are also limited to specific codecs:

Video Formats

  • H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High or Main Profile level 4.0 or lower, Baseline profile level 3.0 or lower with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
  • MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640x480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats
  • Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280x720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format

Audio Formats

HE-AAC (V1), AAC (16 to 320 Kbps), protected AAC (from iTunes Store), MP3 (16 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), Apple Lossless, AIFF and WAV; Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound pass-through

Photo Formats

JPEG, GIF, TIFF

Despite an iTunes server I don't think it will work.

Unless there's a proper instance of iTunes running on a network device AppleTVs can't connect.

AppleTV1 used a 'pairing system' whereby a numerical code show on the TV had to be entered into itunes.

AppleTV2 and 3 use Home Sharing to share media from iTunes.

AFAIK no NAS supports Home Sharing.

The NAS iTunes servers use the old iTunes Sharing protocol - so media will be seen in iTunes from teh NAS as 'shared' but this is quite different to Home Sharing.
