Cyrillic Fonts

i am trying to install cyrillic fonts, specifically ukrainian fonts. every time i go to a page to download the fonts, they always appear to be an english alphabet.

i have no idea how to get ukrainian fonts on this machine and how to support that language in certain applications. i see others' fonts in chats sometimes, but i can't seem to type in them.

im a real mac n00b so can anyone hold my hand through this?

There is no need to download or install anything. Cyrillic support is already included in OS X. To type other scripts in OS X you change the keyboard layout as mentioned by the other responder, not the font. Here's a note that may be useful:
