"Other Storage" (yellow bar) on Iphone4; how can I find this to clean it up?

An "other" that large usually indicates that the "other" included corrupted files. Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

other storage is many times data within apps. this is not the green "apps" bar, which tells you how much space the apps take up. the yellow bar is showing how much space the data inside the apps is taking up. so if you have a lot of downloaded content inside an app, then this will increase the size of the yellow bar.

you can see what is taking up space in: Settings > General > Usage

this will load the size of your apps including downloaded content, so you can see what's taking up space.

I had this same problem. I had 4gb of the "Other yellow bar". I got the yellow bar down to 900mb by deleting all my text messages. The Iphone stores every video and pic you send and recieve through a text/imessage. So I would try deleting your text messages. Hope this helps

Hi I have had 16 GB of Other. Taken me ages but instant result. I had replaced Safari with Google in the bottom bar of my phone, next to the phone icon. I have just moved the Google icon back to the main screen and low and behold the Other bar instantly dropped to 1.3 GB Hope this helps in some way.
