iPhone 4s left speaker not working!

The iphone only has ONE speaker, the left side is a microphone

For those of you that may miss what sarartart is referring to.

I'm not sure what else I can tell you. ALL iPhones have one speaker, and one microphone along the bottom.

The iPhone 3GS has one speaker, one microphone. All iPhones have 1 speaker, 1 microphone along the bottom.

I' m having the same problem, and it's ok to say that the iPhone 4S only has one speaker.

The problem it's that in my older iPhone 3GS a hear a good quality sound from "both" speakers. Is this normal? Are the iPhones different in the speaker subject?

Thanks for your information. With that I must conclude that I'm having a problem with my iPhone 4GS.

If all iPhone have only one speaker and with my older 3GS i hear a perfect and clear sound from both sides at the bottom which doesn't happen with my 4S.

Could you try close - with a finger - one of the sides, for example when playing music. Do you hear any sound from the other side?

I listen to music or the incoming call on my iPhone 3GS and the sound cames from both sides on the bottom of phone.

If i do the same thing on my iPhone 4S I can only hear from the right side. On the left side is a poor and very low sound.

Is this a problem?

No, it is not a problem. The iPhone 4S has one speaker, one microphone.

If your 3GS has 2 speakers you should really store it in a safety deposit box, because it is the ONLY one in the world and it will be worth millions of $$$$$$$.

I trust in you when your saying that all iPhones has one speaker - no doubt, no question.

What I'm telling you is with 3GS I hear a clear and good quality sound at the bottom from both sides and with the 4S this doesn't happen - I only hear from one side.

If you close, for example, with your finger, the right side at the bottom of your phone, can your anything from the other side?

I'm having the same problem with sound coming out out of only one side. I understand you say the phone only has one speaker and one mic, but my headphones that has two speakers and one mic and still I only have sound in one speaker

Headphones are a different problem to an imagined built-in speaker.

Make sure the plug is fully inserted: push harder. Do other headphones work? If so the problem is the socket. Check it out for dirt/fluff.

You really d ouch ed up this thread, stedman1. I have the exact same issues & circumstances regarding my iPhone 4 vs 3GS. It's NOT a miracle that her 3GS is louder, mine is the same. I can barely hear the 4. I have to use the 3GS as an alarm so I can wake up! I miss calls & alerts all the time b/c I can't hear them! Seriously, if you don't have anything nice to say, DON'T D OUCH E UP THE THREAD!!!
