I have printed a lot to my Canon MG6220 printer and it picks the cassette tray almost all of the time. However, when I print images which I believe the iPad thinks is a photograph it wants to print from the rear tray of the printer. This is a problem in that I don’t have paper in that tray normally. How do I get Airprint to never use the rear tray of this printer?

That would probably be within the settings on the printer itself, check the manual for the printer. You can also try removing the tray, some printers will auto select the next available tray.

I'm having the same issue with a Canon MX892. I'll do some research and get back to the discussion group.
Found out that iOS AirPrint is an app by app situation. Apple's Photo App will default to 4x6 and will require that you print using the rear tray. I have an MX892 and found this to be true.
