I am new to Mac and just got a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.1 installed. I am able to download the 10.8.2 update, but I am not able to apply it for some reason. How do I resolve this?

From what I have read here, 10.8.2 is not compaible with the Retina MBP yet.
They are working on it. When it shows up in your Software Update Notification, it will be good to install.

After the download and within the Destination Select stage of Install, I receive the following message:

That's right, jc. It will not let you install it, because it is not ready for rMPB's yet. It will be noted on your Software Update when it's fixed.
