Logic 8 is obsolete. Whilst you may get it to work, you would be better off just getting Logic 9 from the App store.

I am not looking for tons of software synths and stuff, just easy midi/audio daw.

Logic Express 9 is also discontinued, so your best option is to get Logic Pro 9 from the AppStore
