PaoShee,

You need to work through Settings, Notifications, and decide for each App how you would like to see your Notifications handled.

This very much more flexibility than any previous version of iOS.

And, don't forget the Setting, Do Not Disturb, option. This is really very neat, you can set up your Notifications, as above, to suit the way you work during the day time [Office], then keep averything quiet when you are at home, dining out, or want to sleep.

PaoShee,

Am using an iPhone 5 on iOS 6.0.1.

Also "looking after" an iPod Touch, and supporting an iPhone 5, iPad 2 and iPod Touch in my daughters family.

No issues now with any of them...

Hmmm...

I suggest, if you have not already done so, you should go back to Apple Shop [if there is one nearby], or your Telco, or both, and insist on discussing it with their senior technical support guy(s).

I just upgraded to the iPhone 5 iOS 6.0.1 and am getting disconnected from Wifi whenever my screen is locked or in sleep mode. My iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 never disconnected from Wifi when my screen was locked or in sleep mode. So it is possible that it's something with iOS 6.0.1 which causes this. Is there any way to run iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone 5?

Downgrading is not supported by Apple. All of the iOS in the past have disconnected from wifi when they go into sleep mode. This is nothing new, unless it takes a little longer to connect back to wifi. When you wake the phone back up, you will see wifi connect. Wifi turns off when the phone goes to sleep to conserve battery power, as it has in other iOS versions.

I think that the problem lies with 6.0.1 update, I was abroad so didn't update until being back in the UK 3 days ago, every night after the update my 4S will lose the Wifi access at my home, the only solution is to reset and then re-enter my password.

Mt IPhone has not given any problems over the past 9 months and even to IOS 6 update it worked fine, so the only obvious problem is the 6.01 update - So Apple needs to sort this rapidly as I will now have to re-enter the passwords to every WiFi access point I use on a daily basis - this is just not good enough by Apple!!
