iPad mini headphone jack doesn't work

I've had mine for almost a year, Same problem as everyone else. Speaker sometimes works. When is there going to be a permanent fix for this? Obviously it is a software issue, otherwise the "REBOOTS" wouldn't work. I listen to iHeart while at work with my mini and have to reboot at least once a month.😕😕

Thank you! I had tried all the other suggestions and was tired of updating and restarting the kids iPads. We are taking a plane soon and we were worrying about not having them ready for the flight. This was the last attempt before I went into the genius bar

Same issue with mine and a hard reset helped, although I also find that certain apps (CNN live TV feed) seize up when I remove the jack and want to listen through the speakers.

Hello. So, all I can suppose try to repeat hard reset (as I did) with headphone jack plugged in. Perhaps it can help as switch between speakers and headphones is software...

I solved the problem. I did a hard reset and the jack is now working fine. I'm sharing this tip with others who may experience the same.

the hard reset of the ipad mini worked...almost went back to apple because this was the second time this happened.... but it works fine now! hopefully this is a bug they can fix!!!

Had the same problem, interesting how many of us has the same problem and a hard reset should not be the solucion, come on apple we paid for perfect products as you call it.

I also have tried resetting to no avail, my iPad mini was only 4 months old when the jack stopped working

I had this same problem on my MiniPad (but not on my MaxiPad) and though the cold reboot made no sense to me, it worked. All Hail the Web. Thanks to everyone who suggested that.

Same Problem. I just networking reset. Don't hard reset, it may lose your softs and work.

I had the same problem as Kashan Rizvi with my ipad 3.

I had found the Volume Limit as well and fixed it in no time at all.
