just got a new mac book pro but cannot find word processing software on my mac and before I got mac did a lot of work on microsoft word so do I now need to spend another £89 on software after spending over a £1000 on mac book . hope somone can help😕

You can install Microsoft Office for Mac > http://www.microsoft.com/mac Also, you can purchase Pages in the App Store, or if you want a free program, download LibreOffice > http://www.libreoffice.org
You do have a text editor built in (called Textedit). Not a substitute for Office or Pages, but useful.
As for paying for Office; it's a MS product not an Apple one, so it isn't going to be offered free. That said, some models do ship with a 30-day trial of Office.
