iPad Mini intermittent wi-fi

Our new iPad Mini loses wi-fi constantly. It can disconnect and re-connnect many many times each minute.

We also have an iPad 3, and iPhone, iPad Touch, and MacBookPro that work flawlessly with wi-fi.

We've tried the iPad Mini at 3 locations with different wireless routers and have the same exact problem at each location. However, the iPhone etc all work at each of the location flawlessly, so it seems to be a problem specific to the iPad Mini.

Is our iPad Mini bad, or is this an issue with all of them?

my mini has a problem where it has slower connection when i compare to my iphone speed. its using the same wifi and the same location. Though it has full bars it is still much slower. the only way to fix it is to reset network settings or restart. i have did it several times and am i getting sick of it. will i be able to get a replacement or do i have to book an appointment to get it checked out?

Some things to try first:

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• Launch Settings app

• Tap on Wi-Fi

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I'm not convinced that the wifi issues with the mini is selective to certain units. I suspect trading it in will result in the same issue. I have purchased two minis in the past week...one for myself and one for my wife. Both have similar issues in dropping wifi. I have reset the network settings, downloaded 6.0.2, tried a DNS of 8.8.8.8, and nothing helps. My MacBook and 3rd generation ipad work fine. I have an AirPort Extreme router. I think Apple needs to come up with an operating system fix or conduct a massage recall.

My husband's iPad mini A1432 could connect to our Wi-Fi and indicate that the iPad was connected to our home Wi-Fi signal in the Settings, although the Wi-Fi icon would not show up next to th iPad name. I did try the solution of turning on and off the iPad and we can now see the Wi-Fi icon.

Our next issue is that we have a duplicate of one App listed in the Settings. Not sure why or when this occurred seeing as we have the same App on my iPhone and Wi-Fi iPad. Ugh.

Thanx for your assistance in this Wi-Fi matter!
