nVidia drivers for XP cause audio crackling

I have WinXP SP3 installed on my Macbook Pro 13" mid-2010 model, using Boot Camp 3.2. I just bought a Presonus Firebox audio interface that uses FireWire, and it seems that the graphics drivers for nVidia GeForce 320M causes audio crackling/high latency in FireWire audio and possibly USB. After searching numerous forums, I found out that uninstalling the nVidia drivers and reverting to a standard VGA driver fixes the problem. But that's not a good workaround because now I can't play any games, and moving windows around is slow. I downloaded the latest 320m driver from nVidia's site and that didn't help. Does anyone know about this, and has anyone found a solution? Some driver package or hack floating around somewhere that will make it work? I saw somewhere that nVidia had fixed the issue for Win7, but they don't seem to have updated anything for XP.

Thanks, Shayne
