I have had a number of Motorola linux phones over the last few years, and am currently using an A768i. Mine is now getting old, and I would love to trade up to an A1200. I find them to be a very good mix of small size and useful PDA function. They have sold in vast numbers in Asia over tha past years.

The biggest problem is that there has never been a way to sync these with Macs.

I really hope Apple and/or Motorola work this out.

Is anybody out there (esp in Apple) who knows what the problem is?

as far as i know, the A630 does not run Linux. The Linux Phones from a similar family are the A760, A768i, A780 and A1200. I have used all of them except the A1200. The A780, when bluetooth pairing with my Powerbook says will work with address book. (Mac OSX 10.4.5). I tried clickign the bluetooth button on Addressbook, but it takes forever and the Addressbook seems to hang.

If anyone has any suggestions, I can try them out with my A760 since its old and I have lost teh Stylus as well as the Data Cable.

Hi, could you please tell me some more the specifics about your settings. Did you choose bluetooth or usb, which one in particular. Did you have to set this up in a paritcular order? My isynch still says that it cannot sync with a1200 because it isn't supported. Thank you so much, I"ve been trying to figure something out for quite some time.

hello, the sync icon is NOT a Palm desktop Sync Icon, although it looks similar. Its probably a SyncML icon. That means you can sync using this tool to a SyncML server, like www.mobical.net or www.scheduleworld.com
I keep a backup of my PIM data at mobical.net so when i upgrade my phone, my data gets transferred over the air. its a pity though that iSync doesnt support http syncing (over the air, to an internet server). that way its phone compatibility would be limitless...

I just bought this A1200 too, and found out that there's no support/iSync with Mac. The store is willing to take the phone back, but I do like it and would like to keep it, but there's just this one thing. What do ya'll think? Should I just return it because of no isync? Or should I wait in hopes that something will come out that will make it work with Mac? I'll have to decide soon. It's sooo disappointingUser uploaded file
