I don't mind my notes syncing to my mail accounts but how can I stop them from completely disappearing from the app on my phone??
iPhone 4, iOS 6.0.1
I have found 2 of my notes in one of my email accounts, but nothing in my hotmail accounts....?? How do I find the hotmail notes? I manage 5 different email accounts from my phone, how do I determine which account is used when writing notes on my iphone? I have searched through the discussions and can't seem to find anything specifically related to this issue.
This has been happening to me since before iOS 7 came out...in fact, the last note saved on my actual Note app was 03/23/2013, anything after that that i put in there...disappears. it DOES save to the Note folder that appeared in my yahoo mail account. However, i could've easily created one there if i wanted to. I use this Note app for a reason, easier accessability.
I just want my notes to stay there. I've trolled this forum regarding this issue and there doesn't seem to be a reason why it's happening...just that it's happening to a lot of people. Think i'll take a trip to the Apple store this weekend and seek some answers. For now....yahoo it is.
This nice feature of deleting my notes costed me know several times hours of work.
I do not have a yahoo account, I saved the notes in the icloud.
I do not have a notes folder for my icloud account.
-> I am not able to restore my lost notes!
How can you (Apple) publish a software this simple, that is not working properly? Is this still Apple quality?
Most important feature for a notes sync is to NOT delete any notes!!!
ZippyJen,
Thank you for sharing, I've been having the same issue and was unable to locate my notes in the icloud. I did find them in a "Notes" folder on another email address (the one used when I originally got my iPhone).
Thanks again.
I thought I'd lost my notes, too. I also have an iPad mini, and noticed the notes app icon and clicked on it. What was more obvious on the iPad was that there are different accounts; in other words, it had different sets of notes saved under different email accounts. My missing notes were saved under my icloud account, although I didn't consciously ever put the notes under any separate account. They were visible when I clicked "All Notes," too. It turns out that the phone had a different account set as the default. I changed the default on the iPhone, and there they were. I took screen shots so the notes are saved in my photos, too. This was a lot easier than checking through a lot of backups. I hope that helps. I will post this on a couple of threads I see in Apple communities. I see it's a pretty common problem.
My college daughter says that college students at her school (Stanford) use an app called "EverNote". I looked at it, and it has an iphone function that looks similar to the Notes app on the iphone, so I will try it as an alternative. Hope that gives you something to look at, too. https://evernote.com/ (asks you to permit cookies, which you may not want to do.)
