Disappearing Notes

I don't mind my notes syncing to my mail accounts but how can I stop them from completely disappearing from the app on my phone??

All my notes disappeared and didn't seem to be backed up to the cloud.

I have been reading that lots of people have had this problem.... Seems to be an apple anomaly!

Someone said they found a new folder, entitled Notes, had been created in their email and all his notes were there as emails!

I got quite excited and went to my registered email via my PC.

Disappointment! Nothing there.

However, I went to another email.

And there was a new Notes folder and inside, all my missing notes!

I'm very happy and if I can find my way back, lol, I will give my heartfelt thanks to the person that passed on the tip and I hope this helps someone else.

my notes keep disappearing too on my iphone but they do exist in my yahoo email account (notes folder) - seems like the iphone is the master that updates the computer. How do we get our cell notes back. cell phoine is the one I use when I am outside my home. The notes folder does not appear in the cell phone email..only on your computer.

An Apple Specialist told me the best way to keep your notes is to sync them into I Cloud. You can easily move them into I Cloud notes by setting up your email account where your notes are located and I Cloud account side by side on your screen and clicking and dragging them over to the I Cloud notes. I haven't lost any notes since I did this. And it was a fairly quick process of retrieving my notes back to my phone.

I accidentally discovered that my disappeared notes were on my computer in a yahoo folder called Notes (a folder which does NOT appear on either my iPhone or Ipad). So that is something, but I wanted them on the Iphone, not the computer. WHY should they randomly disappear in the first place? All of mine (except one) from Aug. 24 to Oct. 4 disappeared. I do not want to pay Apple $19 to ask this question, but would like to hear from anyone who knows the answer.

OMG you have no idea... I have been on these message boards and searching for help for this for hours. I just about threw in the towel and then came across your advice. I looked in another email account on my phone (one my phone is registered with, NOT icloud) and low and behold there is a folder there now with all my lost notes!!!! This just saved me a huge amount of trouble as I had important data in there that took a whole day to collect. Thank you.

I was able to find my missing notes as well -- in my yahoo account under "NOTES" folder. But the original problem hasn't been solved yet. Why are my notes automatically being deleted from my ipad? I tried syncing my ipad in the icloud, but i wasn't able to retrieve my notes from my mail.. I just hope that my current notes will not disappear again.. Currently though, I am now putting my notes in an application called "OneNote" which I downloaded and it's an ipad version of the windows OneNote application.. I think it is safer to put your notes there, unless you want them to automatically transfer to the mail as usual.. By the way, the missing notes occured recently when I updated to iO7.. I hope APPLE will fix this..

Good suggestion if you want to use iCloud. But I don't EVER want to. If I do decide to go with back-ups in never-never land, I will probably use 3rd party providers, as I am a little wary of the developing Apple control agenda (sigh - where and when did they lose the Apple soul?). So, I would still like to know how to manage Notes on an iPhone and Macbook Pro WITHOUT using iCloud.
