my keyboard doesnt respond at all

My MBP 17 in. keyboard isn't responding at all. I am unable to use another keyboard..that didn't work either. It's like the screen is locked when powered up. A friend said that I may hv turned on the "voice command"..but I am SO lost. I even called Apple Support & we took the battery out, pressed a few keys, I haven't wasted anything on it at ALL.

I've been reading up on it & I see that this is common, but I don't think that the battery cord on my MBP is bent. 😕 I just don't know what else to do. I bought it from someone and I've had it for about 4 years now.

Any suggestions????
