iPhone won't show up in iTunes 11.

I have the same problem when plugging in my iTouch (4th Gen) on a Win 7 Pro machine. I've tried it many times and rebooted, but always the same thing happens, which is that Windows detects the iTouch is connected, because the pop up window always pops up, but iTunes won't detect the iTouch. All of this happened after donig an iTunes update from v11.1.3.8 ro the latest version. The updated version did not work at all. Tons of people have been having problems with the latest iTunes upgrade on the forums. They recommended that I uninstall iTunes and reinstall. I tried that and it still wouldn't work, so luckily I had my old v11.1.3.8 of iTunes and used that to reinstall, since that was the version that worked fine before electing to do the upgrade. Now iTunes was working again, but the only problem now is that it won't detect my iTouch, so I can't sync. This latest iTunes update has caused me nothing but problems and I'm still fighting to get everything working again. If I had not upgraded iTunes, everything would have been fine.

Hard reset your iOS device while it's plugged into the computer with iTunes open.

try going to control panel. hardware and sound - devices and printers - device manager. click. find ipod/iphone. left click. updade drivers. worked for me. hope it helps.

I dont know what happened but after i gave up on it working i plugged my phone into my laptop to charge and randomly works again now! it installed the apple device driver and asked me to enter passcode and to 'trust' the computer now everything is how it should be.

Following Step #5 (Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed) on this page worked in my situation. I had to do it for each device that I connect to my pc. In my case, my devices were showing up under "Portable Devices" in the Windows 8 device manager, and upgrading the driver as instructed got them to show up in iTunes again.

I figure it out. My iphone wouldnt show for any of the above reasons.. All i had to do was go to your PC right click it and click manage. click device drivers then click protable devices or wherever your phone is located under and update the driver. 🙂

Just Unistall These Programs From Program Files

And Unistall ITunes

Go http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download And Reinstall ITunes

My iPhone 4 and iPad mini 2 arent showing up in itunes but my iPod classic is. Would re-installing help, because that seems like its the update problem.

I had the same problem so followed a combo of suggestions. What worked for me was to shut down browers, iTunes, iPhoto, unclick Email phishing and malware protection in settings. With iPhone not connected to computer, I then restarted computer, connected iPhone opened iTunes and there it was in upper right where it had appeared before I updated to iTunes 11. Not necessary to uninstall/reinstall iTunes. I went back into settings and clicked Email phishing and malware protection it still works.
