start up problem

I am having trouble starting up my macbook, the apple is on the screen with a spinning ball

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.4)

Hi,

I take it you have overcome your problem. How did you do it? I am using the "Option, Command, P,R" method but not getting a full screen anymore.
