iTunes 11 – Transfer songs from playlists to iDevice

Thanks for the walkthrough, but way to difficult without the help. Make it as easy as adding a song and you have it.

Have to say, I'm not a fan of iTunes 11. There's always expected changes, particularly with a full version update, but this feels like I'm back in a Windows platform.

The playlist functionality went from intuitive and easy to clunky and hidden.

So, instead of just drag and drop a playlist to my ipod, I now have three clicks, drag and drop, then two clicks to get back to iTunes.

It seems as if moving playlists has become an afterthought to Apple. Maybe they are phasing them out.

Too bad.

I second the idea of going to a playlist then <right click> "send to ipod".

Simple and intuitive. The way Apple products are supposed to be.

The solution at this link from the post above is definitely the easiest and once you learn it, it is simple to do.

I had to connect my cable to the iMac for it to work, it didn't seem to work with wireless but maybe I was doing something wrong. Of course the old method of having sidebar on left, drag and drop, also works fine still.

I think this is apples attempt to seperate your iphone from your PC. They clearly don't want us to to use iTunes to manage our music on our phones. they want us clearly to use iCloud! So pony up your dollars and get all your non iTunes purchased music on the cloud 😝 . Nice Try Apple! No Cigar

Yes please add a 'Send to iPhone' in a contextual (right-click) menu. Please.

Solarez, thank you for the idea with alt+cmd+S. Now iTunes looks like somethink I recognize and can work with again.

Apple do not view these pages it is all peer to peer user help. Yes I think your idea is a good one but post it under Feedback as an enhancement request

I recently received an iPod Touch for Christmas and am totally new to Apple products. I'm a bit disappointed in finding iTunes to be rather unintuitive and difficult to navigate so far. Transferring my playlists from my pc to my ipod touch really stumped me. I'm glad I came across your posts! They have been a huge help - Thank you!

Hi there. I've managed to get as far as the "On This iPhone" bit, but there isn't an "Add to.." button below "Done". Am I missing something?

Thanks for the quick response, but the Add to button is not there. I agree about drag and drop, but firstly my existing playlists on the PC which were there in v10 disappeared in v11. I can see them on the phone, but no amount of atttempts at dragging and dropping will allow me to add songs to existing playlists. I am seriously regretting the upgrade to v11!

Thanks - I've actually sorted it by loading an old version of my library, which shows the missing playlists. All is well now
