iTunes 11 – Transfer songs from playlists to iDevice

"3) The "On This iPhone" button is highlighted. Click on "Add To ..." which is off to the right under the "Done" button."

I do not have the "Add To" button under the Done button, or anywhere near. I see it when I'm in the regular iTunes screen, but when I click on the Phone icon, then On This Phone, that Add To button is not there anymore.

Like ChrisENdo, I do not have the "add to" button when in the "on this iPhone" area.

Worth noting I'm on a Mac Mini and not a PC as a previous poster, so I'm stumped as to why the button is not there. Any ideas?

Does it have anything to do with having to authorize the iPhone in question? I'm new to Mac as a whole, so maybe that's a dumb question, but that's how it used to work on the PC. That said, I don't see any option within iTunes for any kind of device authorization (unless I'm missing it somehow).

Why not just drag and drop?

You don't need to activate the sidebar, change any view, or even click on the iPhone button - all you do is click and hold whatever you want to move, then start to drag it in any direction.

If you have an iDevice connected, a temporary window showing that device will slide in from the right, and you just drop your songs onto it.

Done.

You can drag and drop an entire playlist, part of a playlist, it works in all views and for movies, podcasts, whatever. You can even drag and drop matched stuff from iCloud which isn't local to your computer, and it'll download and transfer it for you.

Before I went to the support site, I "Clicked the up arrow" (as we are wanred NOT to do in this post. Now the Iphone option is gone. How do I get it back.

I have absolutely NO idea what the issue is. Perhaps it was fixed after the original post.

I just transferred a Playlist from iTunes 11 to my iPhone 4S in 10 seconds. All I did was highlight the playlist in iTunes and dragged and dropped it in my iPhone 4S music folder.

I can't Find the add to button

Thanks. This was driving me absolutely crazy. It should not be that difficult to do one of the most basic operations. iTunes 11 stirs feelings of utter hatred in me which I haven't felt for a piece of software since Outlook.

This is great - thanks so much. Is there also a way to get them into the iPhone keeping the playlist folder structure, or will they only go in as individual songs? Thanks again.

Just use iPhone transfer to automatically transfer playlist from iPhone to iTunes.
