iTunes 11: Artist Grid View?

Hi! 11 is interesting, but I can't seem to find any way to put the artists into grid view. That's how I've always preferred my music, scrolling through the list of artists on the side is a little annoying as it's a pretty long list. If the ARTIST screen could be done the same way the ALBUM screen is, it would be pretty awesome. Am I just missing something, or is that not possible?

iTunes (a digital player) was a great way to listen to music. We already have the iTunes store (a digital record shop), so why did you get rid of artist grid mode? Oh, I see, you guys were more interested in integrating the store into the player! Now I understand ! So that's how Artist Grid Mode got destroyed. No wonder iTunes is only 44.1 kHz. I could live with the fact that the clock speed is a little sub par. I use a DAC so it's not that big of a deal. But you guys put the store before the player and ruined my 3rd favorite application. I am so angry about this. I've been begging you clowns to mount the EQ for 2 years, and this is the best you can do? A Bad apple.

This is why Apple and Micro$oft have such awful reputations. If they both would do TWO SIMPLE THINGS as a corporation, they'd be even more on top.. but have you seen these two companies stock activity? They aren't sweating a word we say in here because they are both laughing to the bank.

Here are the TWO THINGS APPLE/M$ COULD DO TO MAKE EVERYONE THINK THEY ARE AWESOME!!!

1) Stop thinking you know what's best for me. LET ME THINK WHAT'S BEST FOR ME

2) ALL THE THINGS YOU THINK I WILL LOVE, DON'T SHOVE THEM DOWN MY THROAT. Make them OPTIONS in any update, make these options DISABLED BY DEFAULT and yes, sorry you have to read this, GIVE ME A BACKOUT OPTION TO GET THE PREVIOUS VERSION I HAD, LOVED and was USED TO..

If you ******** did those two simple things as a business methodology you'd be even more insanely successful than you already are... Clearly that largest most annoying generation is in office at the corporate buildings today...

"Let's change **** weekly and be super impatiant and impulsive!! We'll annoy every other generation to death like we've done our whole lives"

The annoyance generation!! Woot!!

Check out this WiKi on these brats.. two of them (step kids) are leeching off my dad (okay I know this is WAYoff base) but if you're of these age groups and whining like me about the ******** interface changes....you're generation is responsible... thank yourself for this ANNOYANCE....

"WIKI POST:" Go to Wikipedia and look up "Generation Y" They have more titles, coddling and milk the teet longer than any other birth-age range...

Peter Pan Generation

Millennials are sometimes referred to as the Boomerang Generation or Peter Pan Generation, because of the members' perceived penchant for delaying some rites of passage into adulthood, longer periods than most generations before them. These labels were also a reference to a trend toward members living with their parents for longer periods than previous generations.[67]

Okay, I rant. I am way off topic, but see apple, the result of your meandering unnecessary throat cramming "updates". Instead... Call them "frustration maintenance patches" You need to maintain my frustration level with patches...

Interesting article on MacRumor, however...How does it pertain to the thread of restoring the Artists grid view feature?

Personally, I am finding all of these recent Apple software upgrades to be a step backwards.

The lack of Artists Grid View is frustrating to say the least. I have a rather large music library; Manuvering the page feels entirely too tedious.

I truly hope Apple will restore this simple oversight soon.

I agree. the artist grid mode is one of the main reasons why i started using iTunes.

scrolling through a big list of artists in your library is really annoying. and the auto hiding scroll bar is not making it any easier. its either you scroll way to much or try to catch a very slim scroll bar in 1 sec or so.

good luck trying to listen to let's say van halen or U2.

I got iTunes and immediately fell in love with it due to my enormous catalog of TV shows; being able to categorize seasons while keeping a single show icon is a huge plus! However, then I checked out the music end of things and about pooped myself, how the **** are you supposed to browse through 2,000ish artists in ******* list view. If they don't update this garbage soon I'm reverting.

Just one more for the displeasure list. I really hate this iTunes version. So many missing features, but worst of all, the lack of Artist Grid. What a headache it's been to navigate, and the numbering of the songs in columns... horrible idea.

There has also been times when I clicked on "Get Info" for one artist and info for another artist came up with no way to get to the one I wanted. What is that?

Apple is usually on top of their game, but this looks like a big step backward and its inexplicable. =/
