No Shuffle/Repeat Buttons in iTunes 11

I have experienced (and am experiencing) this.

I have repeat one enabled and it just continues onto the next song. I don't remember when it started but it's *really* frustrating because repeat one is one of those things that I use a lot... like every day. In fact, sometimes I juse use my iPhone with airplay so repeat one actually works. Thank god for iCloud haha

Silly iTunes... It's actually making me think of switching music players, but, I really like itunes for the most part so that would make me sad, and loosing airplay functionality would make me even sader.

Same thing happened to me. I just let a random song play till the end and the repeat and shuffle reappeared

Solved for anyone who want to repeat the song added to "Up next"
After you have added it to the up next, drag it to the "lower" section, and the button appears again.

What a cult of iTunes!

Very annoying that shuffle and repeat don't show up when you add a new song to iTunes. I make music, and often need to add a song to itunes and repeat. The workaround I have found is to right-click on the song and click "Go to current song". Then play it from the start. Suddenly the repeat and shuffle buttons show up. Also when playing a song that has just been added, it will continue to repeat whatever song was set to repeat before adding the new song. I try to tell OSX to play new songs in Quicktime, but somehow iTunes keep defaulting. The new layout of iTunes ***** BTW. I'm still confused most of the time.

guys what worked for me is i just did right click to the shuffle icon and just chose the option of repeat and instantly the option appeared on the dashboard so thats how it came out for me , hope it works for you guys

Cool Andree, I didn't think to try a right click on the shuffle icon. What I was doing also worked. When I hover the arrow over the name of the song playing, at the top center of the screen, "3 dots" appear to the right of it, and if I click on them, it adds the song to the "up next" section (as seen by clicking on the "3 lines" icon a little farther to the right.) I can click on those 3 dots as many times as I want to repeat the song as many times as I want, and I can go to the "up next" section to delete any upcoming songs. I can also repeat ANY song(s) in the "up next" section. To do this, I hover the arrow over the name of the song in the "up next" section and the "3 dots" appears and I can click on them to repeat that song. I don't think we could do that with the old version. I like it.

ummm ... forgot to say that after clicking the 3 dots, click "play next" .... forget the last part about repeat any song in the "up next" as it just moves it up to play next.

to get the repeat and shuffle back....go to the top bar and click on controls then you will see repeat and shuffle

Only the shuffle button was showing on my scrubbing/now playing bar. I then right clicked the shuffle button and was presented with repeat options.

For anyone suggesting that I "right click on..." or "scroll down to..." or "select..." to bring back the shuffle/repeat icons... how do you suggest I do this using an external transport control such as my Pronto universal remote and Media Control interface?

Because this new "feature" has broken all those devices now, too.

If you right click the shuffle button it gives you the option to repeat... Hope this helped 🙂

I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND I'VE FOUND THE SOLUTION!!

You just have to click with your secondary mouse's botton (right side) on your shuffle option (right before the name of the song on top) and enable the repeat option! Easy! 🙂 Hope it helps!
