No Shuffle/Repeat Buttons in iTunes 11

I love the new iTunes look but has anyone noticed that the shuffle and repeat buttons are nowhere to be found? Actually, they're still there but I can only access them through the menu bar.

Looking at a review on Cult of Mac they show those buttons flanking the track timeline/scrubber.

My Mac is a bit dated, Early 2008, but I'm running Mountain Lion so I can't imagine something as simple as the shuffle and repeat buttons would be determined by my laptop. Sure I don't have AirPlay or AirDrop but I understand why. But no shuffle or repeat icons? Doubt that's the issue but what else could it be?

I've restarted the program a handful of times to see if that would help. The last thing I'll try is rebooting entirely but can't imagine that effecting something like a c

maybe someone already posted this but heres the best solution if you prefer the quickest way to do this:

hold CONTROL key and click mouse in upper left hand corner of top box that shows song playing and artist. you will get a dialog to repeat and shuffle and have choices such as OFF, ALL & ONE for repeat and OFF & ON for shuffle. actually works better that in past versions of iTunes, but is less intuitive to find.

another option aside from rebooting/new user accounts/etc, is to bring up the menu bar (hidden by default, ctrl+b or clicking the black/white square icon in the upper left, and clicking show menu bar), going to the controls tab on the menu bar, and highlighting shuffle/repeat. they were probably off, and clicking all or one will show the buttons again. hope this helped

iTunes for iPhone:

With this latest update; where have you moved the Skip, Back, Pause, and Shuffle buttons!? Going to the lock screen for the Skip, Back, and Pause is not Audiophile user friendly in the least! The Skip, Back, Pause, and Shuffle buttons need to be co-located with the Songs list (in the iTunes App proper). Additionally, there should be a button IN iTunes for EQ; having to go to Settings is a total pain and not user friendly.

While some of the additions made to the latest iTunes are pretty cool, I think the My Music portion of this latest version is absolutely horrid.

With this version of ITunes the Menu Bar is hidden when you first download it. At least it was on mine, If you click on the upper left hand corner there will be a drop down menu towards the bottom there is the option to "Show Menu Bar", this will bring up a bar right beneath the music bar. Click on Controls, and towards the bottom of the drop down menu there will be an option to repeat. Hope this fixes your problem.
