iTunes 11 won't import new music

Well, the issue persists here. The songs (downloaded yesterday from the artist wesite, not from iTunes Store) are visible only on the Recently Added playlist. Are not searchable as well. The songs are there, but iTunes can't find them. Reinstaled the iTunes, nothing has changed.

Exact same situation. They show up in my recently added playlist but not in the library. Haven't tried putting them on my ipod yet. They are not found when I search for them in the library. Re-opening itunes has not changed anything. I'm thinking it must just be a bug in the new release.

I have had the same issue but with movies, but I have managed to fix it. Open iTunes preferences and go to advanced and check where the computer thinks your iTunes libary is. My computer had it looking in completely the wrong place. I put in the correct file path to my libary and pressed update and hey presto everything worked as it should

what if the file path is already correct, but you still can't add any new songs? anyone know the solution yet?

That fix didn't work for me either. Still stuck.

I'm trying to import some TV shows and iTunes is copying the files on the library but not showing them on iTunes.

Didn't try with song but I think it would have same behavior.

Like all of u...waiting for a solution...

Find some solution that worked for me....let's see if it helps anyone else...

Simply deactivate iTunes match and activat it again. I think iTunes does some refresh on its library info and "finds" everything again.

I am having the same exact problem. It appears in "recently added". You can searh for it, but when you go to look for it under "albums" it just shows: look at "". Thats all I see. I just recently added a album folder of all the songs in that album, and it wont show in itunes library.

This is frustrating.

I'm having the same issue after updating. I don't use iTunes Match. The songs are showing up in the Recently Added playlist but they aren't listed under songs and they don't come up when I search for them. Hopefully a solution is found.

Maybe, for those of you saying you also don't use iTunes Match, try clicking on Match so that it takes you to the screen asking you to sign up, say no, and see if (maybe after waiting a bit) songs appear where they should. I did try this, but I didn't think it had helped. Maybe it did and I didn't notice until later.

Mind you, when I was having this problem, my imported songs wouldn't even show up in recently added. The only way I could get them to show up in a playlist was to double click the song in Finder so that iTunes started playing it, then click on add to > "playlist" on the how playing display. Which is a pain in the arse if you're adding more that one song and isn't a proper fix anyway.

My workaround is to create a new empty playlist, and drag the new music files into that playlist from Finder. These files still don't show in the wider iTunes library, but at least they are now accessbile in my iTunes library via that playlist.

i resolved the issue. I don't know what I did but i turned of iTunes Match, i signed in and out with my AppleID and now when I ad music it does it automatically. I hope I could help

I had the same problem. First I tried to import a cd and the album was visible immediately. After that I dragged the directory with all my albums into the iTunes window with the music library selected and all my albums were imported again into the music library.

Signing out and back in to iTunes fixed the movie import issue for me. The things that I had already drug and dropped in just showed up after signing back in.

Same problem here, newly imported CD/songs can't found in iTunes 11 library, but can be found in hard disk folder, also the new album/songs can be found on iTunes Match in which can download and play in iPhone / iPad.
