iTunes 11 won't import new music

Go to the menubar up top, select the Store menu. Select 'Sign Out'. After you're signed out, iTunes takes you to the iTunes Store. Simply sign back in and you're all good.

This also fixed my issues with iTunes 11.0 not importing a CD into my library. The import create the folder and files in my iTunes library, but they did not appear in iTunes.

I signed out and signed back in and they were in the library at that point.

same thing going on, import music it shows up in recently added....but then not in library..even though the playlist is part of the library? stumped. nothing has worked

shut it off for 10 minutes....everythings back to normal...

This worked for me too, instantly. I wonder if iTunes 11 is not adding the files to the main library until Apple downloads additional information about the files or something. Very frustrating.

I've been having the Same Exact issue I've tried to import a couple albums to the updated iTunes 11 and I can't even find where it asks you to import it. I don't know the updated iTunes very well.. :/

Exact same problem here too. The new import eventiually turned up after time but don't know why.

This used to be seamless in ealier versions of iTunes; you would have thought something as basic as this would have been picked up in testing.

I'm having a similar issue. I can search the songs I just downloaded (off Noisetrade). I have dragged them into itunes (which usually works). They show up in the drop down while I'm typing, but when I hit enter to actually search, nothing turns up 😟

That's right, searching shows the tracks in the drop down results but then iTunes can't actually find the music to play. Opening and closing iTunes, signing in and out seems to fix the glitch somehow.

The exact same issue for me too, on both my iMac AND Macbook Air. Definately a bug. You'd have thought with an extra month they would have sorted out a simple thing like importing!

Signing in and out helps for me too though (Thanks).

Also, still no syncing of playlists for iBooks, huh, guess no-one on the iTunes dev team either reads or owns more than two books.

Yeah, same for me - just logged out of itunes store and logged back in. Movies dragged in magically appeared

Having same problem: recently purchased album shows up as "downloaded" under my iTunes Store account, but does not appear in music list for iTunes 11 (unfortunately recently updated).

If I search for the music in iTunes, I am given the option to add to "Up Next" but nothing happens when I click & unable to play music.

Newly purchased music does appear on both my iPad3 (iOS 6) and iPhone 4S (iOS 5.1.1) & plays fine.

This was driving me crazy, and this is what worked for me: View>Show Sidebar, and then drag new music from the playlists on the left (Recently Added or the automatically created album playlist) into the main library of songs.

I don't know but something I randomly tested finally fixed this issue! The last thing I remember was (going to preferences) reseting the following options:

• "Reset warnings" in Advanced
• "Reset cache" in Advanced

Then I just closed Itunes and re-open it. Now I have my purchased album. FIX THIS ASAP!
