iTunes 11 removed Display duplicates option

I'm just saying it is more likely that it has been removed intentionally than as a result of a temporary software engineering issue.

Apple has removed the option to display duplicates. Since iTunes is converting to "in the cloud," everything is stored and matched in the cloud. Now, the only way to find all duplicates without going through and manually deleting every duplicated song is to purchase iTunes Match. It will scan all your songs and find your songs in the iTunes store and then store your music in the cloud. Once iTunes has matched all your songs, you will be able to sort your music on itunes by matched, ineligible, and duplicate. After sorting the songs, select the "duplicates" and click delete.

I found this way much more effiecent and a quicker way to deleting duplicates compared the the previous version of itunes. The only bad thing is, you have to purchase iTunes Match for $24.99 per year.

There are quite a few free solutiosn that cost nothing. iTunes match is not necessary.

Oh well, thats alright then.

And what has Apple told you to purchase? The scripts to find dupes are free. You're being overly dramatic.

No they didnt its in the view menu when you look at your music in list mode.

Interesting. List mode - seems to be no such thing in Mac OS X iTunes 11 - no sign of it or the missing duplicated feature.

Ensure you have it enabled in your preferences.

On the General tab, "Show list iews for all media"

Make sure you have updated to iTunes 11.0.1

In Music use the Songs view, or List view for other media (enable as above)

Enable the menu bar cmd-b (I think)

The show duplicates or option > show exact duplicates features should be in the menus.
