"1. When you download a song it does not go into your library. It goes into your Purchases and then has to be downloaded from the Cloud.."

Ugh...Really?  I haven't purchased anything since the upgrade, but I absolutely hate this idea.  Too many "clouds" out there -- I can't keep track of which songs are on my Amazon cloud, and which are on my iTunes cloud, etc.  If I buy the file, just give me the ******* file already, without making me take extra steps to get it to my computer.  (Especially since there are still occasions when I, gasp, am not online)

I have my iTunes library duplicated on a Mini just because i'm obsessive. After going to 11 on one machine I noticed the total count and size now differs considerably between the itunes 11 version and the 10.x on the mini. The new is showing hundreds  more "items". Anyone know why that would be the case, is it adding something the older version did not? Too many songs to stare and compare.

Some things I saw that really bother me (some were likely mentioned here already):

    - loss of Show Duplicates

    - loss of convert AAC format to MP3

    - Get Info no longer allows you to suppress gap between songs (maybe it is done automatically now)

    - The new Search field in the upper right hand corner is unintuitive.  If you want to search for a combination of an artist and song (i.e.: "Stones Sympathy") it says "No Results" instead of finding "Rolling Stones - Sympathy For The Devil".  They completey screwed up the fast searching I am used to.

    - Albums view shows only in one view that has the pictures of the albums.  Except in my case, I purposely have no album art, so I just have a bunch of useless empty boxes and no way to change the Album view.

    - Also, I don't know if this is related or just coincidental, but my iPod Classic 7 160GB started acting odd soon after I started using iTunes 11.  The iPod will intermittently reboot itself when I try to play a song or podcast.  It can be maddening because once it starts, it won't stop.  I read it could be a bad hard drive caused by dropping it, but I have not dropped the iPod in a long time, so why it it suddenly start doing this now?

You can still right click and create the MP3 but you are correct with the other problems. They took away the choice of genre, you cannot select all if you don't know.It is a mess no matter which way you look at it.

You are right Muggyl on the convert to MP3.  I just tried it and saw the link.  Earlier I was trying it only on "purchased songs" and could not see it.  Maybe tha is the only change.

Yes. Same problem. And there seems to be no way to put them in the library view. At first I didn't know why I couldn't see my new purchases at all until I saw your post. I can't place new movies in my movies folder either. iTunes places them in home videos. I've moved them to the movies folder but iTunes moves them back. Annoying.

Anyone got a solution to go back to iTunes 10.x?

Oh, and another thing. I listen to my podcasts in my car ... iPod integration now dead.

When I record sound files with my Zoom H2n I used to just click on them and they would play in itunes now NOTHING happens. I am ******. I've wasted a lot of time with this garbage. I am going to swith to windows 8. **** macintosh. Steve Jobs made great art, now apple just makes money. so sad.

Well, first of all, your computer is upside down...

Version 11.01.12 just came out and I downloaded it.  I noticed Show Duplicates is back.

iTunes 11.0.1 displays sort order for a shuffled playlist in the order in which songs are added, not the order in which songs will be played.

    Screen Shot 2012-12-14 at 12.02.42 PM.png

Above the playlist is in shuffle mode, and the field for song number is selected, yet the playlist is showing a the song list in the date that they were added to iTunes, not the order in which the songs will play.  Not an issue in iTunes 10.

My iPod Classic went into the garbage can with iTunes 10 update.  It tried to sync, finished, started to sync again, and went into an infinite loop that could not be stopped.  Tried to reset the iPod, but it never did work again and had to be tossed.  Store was no help.  They said get a new iPod.

I'm having the same problem. I tried "Add Folder to Library..." from the menu bar. It worked for just that one time. After that, all the new songs I add appear in "Recently Added" smart playlist again and disappear from the Library.

  • Tolbert1958 Level 1 (0 points)

In my desktop library of my ITunes, the shuffle button does not work at all. If you click on it, all you get is a song being played vice shuffling the playlist. Haven't had this problem until 11.0 was downloaded.

  • Tolbert1958 Level 1 (0 points)

Other than previously posted issue of shuffle button not working, the other significant issue is the Search feature in the top right corner of the ITunes Store screen does not work. Enter something in Search, hit return, and all I get is a white screen. Have followed other posters/ITunes Customer support directions and removed and reinstalled ITunes 11.0.1 multiple times, updated JAVA script, updated WindowsXP, opened firewalls, disengaged internet and reconnected, no joy.
