Can not connect iPhone/music to new macbook iTunes

I just recently bought a new Macbook Pro with Retina Display, and am transfering over from a Macbook about 3 years old. My iPhone 4 when I plug it in to the new macbook will not connect with iTunes. It says that it does not have permission.

How do I give my old iphone permission on the new computer, to become its default.

several things you could try but first - i would go start menu - search- services - and then in services find apple mobile device support - then chose stop service and then restart service - also make sure itunes is up to date
