iTunes 11 not updating apps automatically

Anyone else finding itunes 11 is not automatically updating the apps when you sync?

You used to just sync and it would update any updated apps automatically, now you have to do it manually?

iPhone 5, iOS 6

When i click on "13 updates available" instead of going to the next screen where i can click update on the apps I want to update ..... a screen pops up saying "No updates available" !!! It started with 5 updates availble and now ist up to 13 updates availble but I cant update from itunes. I can only update on my iphone and Ipad which does NOT update my ituens app library.

Im going around in circles trying to update my apps becuase itunes is notifying me.... only to be then told.. there is nothing to update....

Another way to get the apps portion is to use the "View" menu to enable the "View Sidebar" option. That returns the display to something similiar to what it was before. You can then click on the "apps" and get the expected apps display. It has the "Check for updates" and "Get More Apps" buttons. It is a shame they hide things...

I have the same issue with my updated apps not syncing to the ipad. I download all of the updates to my existing apps. In the update/will update/remove box each new update shows update in the box. I choose sync and the usual process begins until right after itunes indicates that it is "determining the apps to sync" and then it stops. All of the new updates continue to show update in the box rather than the remove option. Nothing has been transfered to the ipad.

One other thing that may help those of us that are having this problem. In trying to solve this issue I even set up a new library. I did an initial sync for this new library and it told me correctly that my ipad had previously purchased applications on it that were not in my library and asked if I wanted to transfer them to the new library. I indicated yes and nothing would automatically transfer to the new library. Only after I used the files/devices/transfer purchases from ipad option did all of the previous applications trasfer back to the itunes library.

Its not we can't download it is it doesn't automatically sync the updated apps to your device

I'm having the same problems too with iTunes 11, an iPhone 4S and an iPad with Retina Display. It doesn't seem to matter which device I download the updates on - when I sync it doesn't move them to the others. It's using 3x more download allowance than necessary, and some games such as Tin Tin are nearly 1GB in size - so downloading that 3x is a huge waste of our home broadband allowance.

This used to happen automatically when you synced an iOS device with the updated app.

This suggestion works perfectly to sync App Updates (between iOS device and computer).

It's an extra step, and will hopefully be fixed in a software update... but it works for now.

Thanks!

My problem is that I used to download updates on itunes - plug in iphone - app updates transfered automatically to my phone

Now I download updates in itunes - plug in iphone - app updates have to be manually synced one by one by clicking update next to each app on the iphone screen in itunes

this takes so much longer

I am trying to find out if this is a bug, or if this is how it works now

iTunes 11.x fReekin' bLows!.. Before, you simply selected which apps you wanted to update, iTunes downloaded them, you hit SYNC, and apps would update to your iPhone.. I just did that and none of the updates synced to my iPhone.. an additional step is required now! you must click on your device (iPhone), click on the Apps tab for your device (not in the iTunes Sidebar but for your device) then all the app updates you've selected and iTunes downloaded, you have to select "update" which changes to "will update", ALL ONE BY ONE.. smh.. we need Steve Jobs back from the grave, this is STOOPID!!

Sure would be nice if I could delete a post if I change my mind. I guess I'll just edit it to fill it up with garbage.
