iTunes 11 not updating apps automatically

Anyone else finding itunes 11 is not automatically updating the apps when you sync?

You used to just sync and it would update any updated apps automatically, now you have to do it manually?

It means "Hold down the Command key while clicking the 'Update' button".

This worked for me -- command-clicking the Update button for one app changed all of the rest to "Will Update". But still, this is a non-intuitive (certainly non-Apple-like) solution. It used to "just work", like Apple products should. Why would they have changed such a basic and important process?

I have had this problem for the past 6 months.

Everything used to work fine and then after an iTunes update it stopped working. The ctr update is a work around at best and is something you expect for from Microsoft and not apple who can ensure quality control. Each subsequent time I update iTunes I hope that this is fixed but to no avail yet 😟

Please fix it, it should be simple and quick.

If app updates won't show, I've found this works (no idea why, I found this answer elsewhere and it works for me):

  1. Open System Preferences.
  2. Click Network.
  3. Click whatever you're using for a network in the left box (generally Ethernet or Wi-Fi).
  4. Click the Advanced... button.
  5. Click the Proxies button.
  6. Click the checkbox for "Automatic Proxy Configuration" (if unchecked, check it; if checked, uncheck it).
  7. Click OK.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Restart iTunes and click Apps icon, then Updates.
