iTunes 11, deleted apps will not sync. (using sync cord not iCloud)

iTunes 11 will not sync the apps that I have deleted. I have tried an iphone 5, my wife's 4S and my sons 4 same issue applies.

It will sync new apps no problem. it's just the ones that I have deleted or removed that will not sync.

I need to delete it from the phone and from iTunes to make it go away. I can't just deleted from one and then sync like I used to in iTunes 10.

I have seen one other person with this issue but I know iTunes 11 just came out. Anyone else having this problem or has figured anything out?

Installing apps works fine. iTunes11 has an issue with DELETING, then syncing apps.

Example;

If I delete a couple apps I have decided I no longer want from iTunes 11 (on my Macbook Pro)....

then plug in my iPhone to sync everything..... the sync will not remove the apps I have deleted.

Worked fine before (with iTunes 10.x)

Question... Does Apple see these discussions? Or should we still call to report problems / issues?

I have the same issue. I have a bunch of apps I deleted in iTunes but they aren't being removed from my iPhone 5 like they used it. And I have so many apps I have no way of remembering what apps I deleted in iTunes, nor do I have the time to compare iTunes and the phone. Restoring could 'resolve' the issue with not knowing which apps I deleted, but it's hardly a solution.

Just when I think Apple fixed the issues I've had for the past 2-3 versions of iTunes, they just introduce new ones. It's sad.

Same problem here, as per the post I wrote just now. I write for various Mac/iOS magazines, and so relied on iTunes for fast app management—it's a lot faster to delete 30 apps from an iPad via a sync than it is to delete one at a time on the device. As of iTunes 11, this is no longer possible, regardless of what the dialog box states.

Given that iTunes clearly preps devices for app deletion (you can see the free space shoot up towards the end of the process), this is either a bug or Apple has eroneously left the dialog box in place and means to delete this functionality. I'd recommend you using the iTunes feedback page to let Apple know if this feature is no longer working for you.

As far as I can tell from 11.0.1, the warning dialog was the 'bug' in the new way iTunes appears to deal with apps. As of 11.0.1, there's definitely no way to bulk-delete apps from a device by first removing them from the lTunes library. Instead, they remain on the device and are *not* transferred back to iTunes. However, apps updated on a device *are* copied back. I guess this provides more intelligence in terms of the overall system and lessens the likelihood of accidental deletions, but at the expense of rapid app management.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I wonder who thought this was a good idea and who made the final approval. This isn't intuitive at all. I've NEVER had and accidental deletion. Now I have to figure out a way to compare my iTunes apps versus what's on my devices and manage both, which will take 2x-3x the time it took before.

Apple is slowly continuing to push me away ever since Cook took over. It's sad. Don't really want to go back to all Windows for personal use but I'm slightly starting to consider it.

Do you know what, I think that this *is* enough for me to look elsewhere. PhotoStream doesn't work for me, so that has been a major annoyance which had taken time to try to resolve (unsucessfully) and now they have made something that I do regularly 4 times more time consuming for me.

I have a work iPhone, my own iPhone, and an iPad. Perhaps I'm unusual in having several iOS devices hooked to the same iTunes, but what this means is that if I want to delete an app, whereas before I only had to delete it in iTunes and then sync my 3 devices, now I have to deleted in iTunes, delete from my work iPhone, delete from my own iPhone, and delete from my iPad.

It's stupid, idiotic, and frankly rubbish. Sure, I'm invested in the iOS world with probably a couple of hundred of pounds worth of apps, with TomTom and so on, but guess what - that is only a fraction of the cost of a new device, so really, when it comes to it, it's nowhere near enough to keep me on iOS. Real alternatives are available now, in a way that they weren't 4 years ago, and although "they" may say "it's not much of a hassle", really, why should I have to put up with any hassle?
