iTunes 11 doesn’t show my newly added songs in the Library

I was unable to add see my newly added songs (not purchased through iTunes store) in the Library Song List, but was able to see them in the "Newly Added" smart playlist. Does anyone has this problem?

OS: 10.6.8

iTunes: 11.0

Same problem here. Tried all the suggested solutions. Nothing works!

Clearly a serious s/w problem.

Being a DJ , iTunes Match seemed quite a service. BIG disappointment nr.1. (Itunes match removed all essential personal tags).

I'm currently preparing a set for tonite and BIG Disaapoint NR 2. I can not add newly purchased music.

It's killing my workflow!

I'm quite aware that the s/w is free. I'm more than happy to pay. But it seems that Apple is slipping on s/w.

The user experience is not improving to say the least.

I also have the same problem. Can find the songs through "Newly Added" smart playlist, and I have even made a album playlist of the songs, but still can't see them on the big songs list.

Other threads have suggested File > Add Folder, and find the folder containing the song files, which should show the songs right away on your library.

But I have added my songs to the library, and I don't want to navigate to iTunes folder just to re-add the songs (which, since I enabled "copy files to iTunes Media folder", would make iTunes copy the files onto the same folder, possibly creating a duplicate)

In short, I'll just wait for the iCloud to finish its business on my iTunes and let it show the songs. This is not a small bug.

To add songs to the playlist, you can drag the songs to the right where the playlist will pop-up when you drag a song.

Alternatively, you can show the sidebar with the playlist like in the past by go to the menubar > View > Show Sidebar.

Yes, it seems that the iCloud is doing something (the cloud icon is progressing) and the library will only be updated after iCloud has finished its business. I am not sure though, whether this will work for users who are offline.

I don't consider this a small bug, as we expect the library to be updated instantly. Furthermore, if iTunes need iCloud to finish its business, then this is a very big bug for those users who are not able to be online.

Same problem here. It is a huge bug. Apple: there is a concept known as testing your product and fixing bugs before releasing it. I can't see how this went unnoticed. Additionally, I predict the delay has something to do with iCloud processing the newly added files. I was never aware that I granted permission to let iCloud process my library. This a features no one asked for, it is unclear what is happening to the user and it breaks the core functionality of the application (that is, it makes it very difficult to play newly added music). FIX THIS.
