iTunes 11 doesn’t show my newly added songs in the Library

I was unable to add see my newly added songs (not purchased through iTunes store) in the Library Song List, but was able to see them in the "Newly Added" smart playlist. Does anyone has this problem?

The same problem happened to me last night and it was driving me mad until I saw this thread and realized it was a common problem. This is what I was looking at trying to locate my newly imported track that was playing in itunes yet was nowhere to be found in my 'songs' list. User uploaded file

I tried quitting Itunes, restaring my computer and still nothing and of course the search feature doesn't work to locate it either. Will these tracks ever show up in Itunes 11? Or must I keep track of them through a recently added play list?

To MLEVT, mollyow,

see my post which "solved" this question thread on page 1.

there are two ways,

1. Use windows explorer/finder to dig into your itunes music folder and add an itunes manual playlist from that folder, or

2. Wait until itunes/apple finish cataloguing/archiving/registering/snooping your newly added songs which can take around 30 mins to 2 hrs. Just let the itunes open in background.

Or, like the previous commenter said,

3. Sign out and sign back in (i havent tried this, so cant vouch for it)

This is a massive bug. Imported tracks show up in search but you can't actually play them until iTunes Match does its bit ... which takes an absolute eternity on slow Internet access and a large library.

I want to play tracks when I want, not when Apple deems it acceptable to allow me to play them.

No wonder they're falling fast in the customer trust ratings!

iTunesd 11 has been a complete disappointment to me; I'm not surprised people are looking for alternative music players.

I am extremely frustrated with this new iTunes. the previous versions would show all the recently added music, and I could easily click and drag into a new playlist after downloading various tracks. I just downloaded a lot of new cd's, specific tracks, and when I press in 'Recently added' or 'Newly added' NOTHING shows! Now I have to go through the ENTIRE library searching, for each and every track, to create a playlist, which the previous iTunes all I had to do was click and drag into playlist, easy. APPLE team, you are such a huge company with an obviously 'smart' team, but when upgrading iTunes and making us all update, why would you make it more time-consuming than before?
