Apple TV has lock symbol in iTunes

Hi all,

I have iTunes 11 on my mbp running 10.7.5.

I have apple tv 3 running the newest firmware (updated moments ago). From my apple tv I can see my mbp's music and play it via home sharing. From my ipad, I can "push" the music from my ipad to the apple tv via AirPlay.

However, I can't control my Apple TV from my macbook. I see the Apple TV option in Airplay, but there is a lock symbol.

Any idea what the lock symbol means and how I can get rid of it?

Hi,

I am also running iTunes 11.0.1 on an iMac and apple TV 2 and 3 with updated firmware;

I am having the same issue. I can play from my iphone and ipad to the Apple TV but not from iTunes via airplay. Also my Apple TV doesn't show my computer library.

I did find that if you remove or turn off passwords in airplay on the Apple TV it makes the lock symbol go away in the iTunes airplay list but it didn't solve the connection issue from iTunes to the Apple TV via airplay.
