Can I reinstall my previous version of iTunes? Too many clicks to get what I want, info is scattered, and no coverflow.

I installed the latest version of iTunes and I can't stand it. I want to revert back to the last version. Instead of having a menu to the left where ALL my info is listed, I have to click through drop downs to get what I want and back again. I also don't like the fact that coverflow is removed as it was my most used view. How do I go about reinstalling an older version like 10.7?

And also... I noticed about 3 albums I bought digitally yesterday and imported are not found within the iTunes interface but they are listed in my root directory. So I have to reimport? How? WTH? I don't understand. Everything was fine until this upgrade.

I had to use Pacifist twice to make this all work, and then replace the "iTunes Library.itl" file from a Time Machine backup, but it does resolve all the iTunes 11 problems, and returned me comfortably to 10.7, where I'll be staying until Apple pulls its cranium out of its arse and returns us to the thrilling days of yesteryear.

I thought the same thing...

The search doesn't work properly anymore either. Artists within a compliations don't show up in search but the name of the song does.

The mini player option is just terrible.

Cmd Shift M worked just perfectly, why change it?

The actual look and skin is much nicer but the actual function is a backward step. Too many "helpful options".. .I was waiting for a microsoft paperclip to popup to give me more unneeded help...

itunes brilliance was its simplicity.

I've switched back to itunes 10 using these simple steps

Delete itunes 11 out of the applications folder

Delete the iTunes Library.itl file from the mac

Goto the itunes download page and download the old version and reinstall.

The only downer is that you have to readd all your songs back into itunes but its worth it.

The only problem will be that iphones/ipads/ipods will eventually ONLY work with the latest version of itunes so lets hope apple fix the bugs and possibly give us a "classic option" within the latest version.

Thank you very much everyone for your input. It took me ages but I was finally able to get the good old itunes back! I can't believe how bad the iTunes 11 is! ***? It's just so awful. I got on itunes store and gave pretty bad feedback about it, I hope heaps of other people do and the make that 'Classic" version available as mentioned earlier.

Thanks again guys!

Hated change just for the sake of change... and iTunes 11 is just rubbish!

Not that good an app already and then to make it worse is quite an achievement!

It's frankly just too bloody arrogant of the iTunes team not implementing a REVERT to previous version or some kind of 'CANCEL' option after a 'test drive' of the new and incomprehensible v. 11, even if it was good!?

And where's there even a 'DEFAULT' setting?

Not impressed at all.. and as a user I WANT OPTIONS, certainly NOT imposed w. an app that is near impossible to revert to former and well known setup, 'just because'!

This IS the worst update ever. It is so different there is NO way I will ever be comfortable with it. What they need is a classic view version and this piece of crap version. iTunes was probably the last thing in this world I enjoyed. I have temporal lobe epilepsy and have memory problems. I constantly search my house for things I've misplaced and cannot find. Now I need to do this with my iTunes library? Please Apple. Fix this.

Hi, I'm trying not to freak out but I am because I lost my ENTIRE 10,000+ music library! I followed your guys instructions and downlaoded 10.7 but when launching it I got the same error message. Then I deleted like mcrox suggested the iTunes Library.itl. Then 10.7 was able to open but my music all gone. Any and all help would be appreciated, I now am able to open both versions 10.7 and 11 but no music in neither. I'm really annoyed with this new update and really wanted to downgrade back because it was impossible to navigate, I didn't even understand how to move songs into playlists.

Please any advice is very necessary at this point, what do I do???
