Can I reinstall my previous version of iTunes? Too many clicks to get what I want, info is scattered, and no coverflow.

I installed the latest version of iTunes and I can't stand it. I want to revert back to the last version. Instead of having a menu to the left where ALL my info is listed, I have to click through drop downs to get what I want and back again. I also don't like the fact that coverflow is removed as it was my most used view. How do I go about reinstalling an older version like 10.7?

And also... I noticed about 3 albums I bought digitally yesterday and imported are not found within the iTunes interface but they are listed in my root directory. So I have to reimport? How? WTH? I don't understand. Everything was fine until this upgrade.

Downloaded iTunes 10.7 and tried backgrading, but it says a newer version of iTunes can't be replaced. I also can't remove the iTunes 11 from the Applications folder, as it says it's required by the system, and I can't alter the name or move it to another folder, because it's locked, and won't allow me to unlock it.

Any ideas? I'm the admin on this mac.

Yesterday I tried to backtrack using some of the ideas floated here, and still ran into problems - half my purchased music wouldn't play, couldn't authorize it, couldn't deauthorize/authorize my computer.

The solution at the link I've posted worked perfectly for me today. Took about 15-20 minutes - which included downloading/installing AppZapper and Pacifist first.

Good luck!

Check this out: download pacifist and use that to restore 10.7. I just did it, it works great. install all 3 parts of the dmg....

I did the same thing: had to roll back to itunes 10.7

I hate the new iTunes, Apple managed to "dumb" the software down so much it is barely usable!!!! Can't show duplicates, Genius can't show a detailed list view, and the currently playing list is only in a popup: ***!!!

anyhow: I followed the instructions on that link and it solved my issues....

I had replaced all files during the reinstall of itunes 10.7

I pray that apple figures out how insulting the itunes 11 is to any customer with 2 brain cells and restore all advanced functionality and let us decide on how the interface should look like.....arghh...what a headache

Thank you so much! I, like others, did the update without realising how terrible the new iTunes could be. I simply don't have the time or headspace for dealing with a completely redesigned app and think it appalling that Apple could just change the UI so dramatically. Having followed the Macrumors thread and made sure to restore the old library file, I am back in 10.7 heaven. Phew.

I agree that the newest i-tunes version is horrible!!! After 3 days of stress, strife, trial and error here's how I reverted to an earlier version.

Go to MUSIC files.

Copy entire I-tunes library to another file (name it what ever you choose)

Delete the I-tunes files

Go to Remove Programs

Delete anything that has an Apple ext.

Go to Google

Search for "reload older version of I-tunes"

Select the vs. that you want with an Apple ext.

Proceed to install it

At the end of the installation process you will be asked a question that I can't remember but when you respond your all of the items that were your I-tunes library will be loaded into the vs. that you just installed.

Best of Luck to you!
